Located in Kutch district of Gujarat state and spread over 56 sq. km., the area has potential MSMEs for sectors like mining of gypsum including selenite and dolomite, manufacturing of fruit/vegetable juices and their concentrates, manufacturing of pasteurized milk, flour, rice and dal mill, preparation and spinning of man-made fiber, weaving of cotton textiles on handlooms, embroidery work and making of laces and fringes etc.
Salt, mineral product, bentonite powder and steel pipes are the major exportable items here. The major minerals are ball clay, bauxite, china clay, fire clay, gypsum, laterite, lignite, limestone, silica sand and white clay and the minor minerals are bentonite, black trap, hard murrum, building limestone and sandstone.
