MIDC has acquired 471.96 hectares of land for the Develop Industries in Konkan Region.
Basic Infrastructure viz. good roads, Water Supply, Storm Water System, Street Lights, Arboriculture, Common Facility Centers, Recreation, Communication Facilities, Bank, Post office, Telephone Exchange etc are available in this area. In line with the Industrial policy announced by the state Government in 1995 Important infrastructure objects are also planned by the Corporation in this backward area in Konkan Region with main object to promote Industrial growth. This area is located on Mumbai-Goa N.H.17 at a distance of 5 k.m. from Mahad City. Dist. Raigad.
Water: MIDC has developed a separate water supply scheme by constructing a Dam having a capacity of 29 Million cubic meters on Savitri River. A 24 MLD Water Treatment Plant has been constructed to meet the requirement of the industrial area. This water treatment plant has an excess capacity of 8 MLD. Apart from MIDCs Water supply scheme there are two more water supply scheme developed by Irrigation Department for Irrigation of surrounded land.
Roads: The area is connected with National Highway No.17. At this stage MIDC has developed internal asphalted roads.
connectivity: MIDC has developed a telephone exchange building in this area.
Residential Facilities: MIDC has earmarked a residential zone with the industrial area.
Bridge: On National Highway & State Highway, permanent bridges have been constructed by public works department for smooth flow of traffic.
Common Effluent Disposal Facility: A Common Effluent Disposal Scheme is under construction to make the area ecofriendly. This scheme will be operated as a joint venture between MIDC & the industries in the area. The scheme will take care for effluent collection, treatment & disposal.
Fire Station: MIDC has developed a Fire Station which is run by Mahad Manufacturers Association.
Truck Terminus And Bus Stop: A truck terminus is planned in the region to be developed in the next one year.
Electricity: MSEB has commissioned two power sub-stations of 100 KVA. and 220 KVA capacity. MIDC has also earmarked 25 acres of land for the new Power Generation Station proposed to be located in Addl. Mahad
Indl. Area. This ensures good quality electricity to the region
Common Facility Centre: This facility center houses a post office and a rest house. Many other facilities are planned in the center.
Bank: State Bank of India is located on the main central Road. In addition there are many other Nationalized Banks i.e. Bank of India, Bank of Baroda, Bank of Maharashtra, Sangli Bank in the Mahad City. Two Co-Operative Banks viz. Mahad Co-Operative Bank and Raigad District Co-Op. Bank are located in the Mahad city.
